I know we need this soothing rain,
But for us bowlers ‘what a pain’
When games are cancelled
and fixtures re-routed
Trying to get everyone suitable
suited
But then the weather forecast says
fine
And everything just drops into line
Our games are played and schedules
on track
Let’s roll those bowls and hit the
jack!
Come and join in, we’d love to see you!!
FRIDAY WALKERS
CONTACT Christine Radford 01341 250814
Near the end of the valley at Llanfihangel-Pennant
we parked by the church, so peaceful and pleasant
Waterfall spray coated the rocks with green,
for the moss was kept damp down into the stream.
We toiled and puffed as we climbed so high
on ‘Free to Roam’ land-such views ‘Oh my!’
Into the next valley we clambered down
thru’ tussocky grass and heathery ground.
We loved our wanderings thru two valleys remote.
The day was breezy but no need for coats.
The point of our ramble, see carvings more than
twenty
To visit the ‘Devil Stone’ with engravings a plenty.
NOTE We climbed over 1,860 ft. surrounded by hill upon hill, and on
the ridge passed two cows and a calf. They certainly didn’t get there
by our route! Far below, we saw the Talyllyn lake the ribbon-like
road. We hadn’t been to this stone for 3 years.
