Recycling within the village.

There are recycling projects in the village so lets reduce landfill and use these!!!
as a bonus funds can be raised at the same time.
The car park in station road - Recycling station for paper, tin cans and bottles
The school is collecting old
mobile phones to raise funds so if you have any lying around contact sue for an envelope or ask at Riverside Stores. Don't forget to collect any vouchers the school may be able to use, they all help to provide extra facilities for our youngsters. These may also be left at Riverside stores or be passed on the any member of the school. More details of these schemes are on the school page.
Recycle your empty
Printer/Toner cartridges (not epson, no toner bottles or ribbons) Macmillan Cancer Support benefits from these collections and items can be left at the rear of Bod Idris (Opposite the gallery, by the car park.) on the raised surface over the woodpile, opposite the back door.
Do you have items you no longer want!! I bet someone else can make use of these, advertise them locally for free at Tywyn-DolgellauFreeCycle

More info is also available at recyclemore.co.uk this provides lots of useful info on all aspects of recycling.

If you know of more recycling projects,
Please let me know and we can share it with all!!

Llwyngwril and District Association of Tourism and Trade
NEWS!

The Tourism and Trade Association are currently seeking funding to try to get some Tourist information boards for our villages. We envisage some of the boards seen in many other tourist destinations, where there is a simple map, with images and information about the places of interest we have to show people, and which currently go unrecognized by many visitors, due to absence of signposts. see below for the next meeting and perhaps you would like to come along and help with your input.

Membership to our organization, is just £25 a year, which entitles you to a page on our website, with all of your contact and business details with a link to your own website, if you have one.
If you would like to register your business in the organisation, please send details of the content you wish to be put on the Website, with your images, name, address, phone number, mobile number, e-mail address, fax number and the name of your business, to:
Janet Jones,
Golwg y Mor,
Llwyngwril, LL37.
Janet is the treasurer, and she will then pass details on to Sue Williams, who will add your
information to the website.
THIS APPLIES TO ANY BUSINESS, NOT JUST TOURISM BUSINESSES as our website
is as much a tool for local people to use to access goods and services, as it is for potential visitors, who can use it for Tourist information, and see what accommodation is available in the villages.

Are you learning to speak Welsh?
Feel “held back” by having so few opportunities to practice what you have learned in
class? A Welsh Language conversation group will be meeting in the Fairbourne Village Hall
from 12 noon most Thursdays (after badminton). This is NOT a language class but an
opportunity to be with other students who feel it would be helpful to them if they could
practice using the Welsh language more often. Welsh speakers will be present to help. It is
anticipated that the group will meet irregularly so please contact Pauline 01341 250860
for confirmation of meeting dates. (See above for meetings in Llwyngwril and attend both to double your exposure to the language.)

Catherine Corrie is running residential courses at Rhiwgaeron, a centre for healing, meditation and self development, which is in a wonderful position above Llwyngwril. more...

Llwyngwril Art Exhibition 2010

The Llwyngwril Art Club held another successful event when, during the August Bank Holiday, they displayed all of their 2010/2011 paintings.  Yet again the numbers of visitors has increased, and thanks go to all of those that supported us and came to see our achievements.

As well as the art displays we also raised £374 with a raffle, which is to be split between headstart4babies and the village Ganolfan.  The first prize was kindly donated by Llwyngwril artist Ken Bridges and the group would like to thank him for such a generous donation.  The lucky winner was Mrs Avril Garrod from Llwyngwril, who is delighted with her prize.  The second prize was a framed photograph by Andrew Gardener and was won by Mr and Mrs Burton from Peniarth Caravan Park.

The winner of our favourite picture competition was Sue Hamlin with 'Port Penrhyn', so congratulations to Sue for such a beautiful picture.

Once again we provided refreshments, with cakes donated by the Art Group members, and they were much appreciated by all.

If you would like to join in the fun each week then please call in to see us.  We are a friendly bunch and no experience is necessary.  The group is becoming very popular, with a current membership of 16, and all have different skill levels.  Don't worry if you have no experience as we will provide you with the equipment you need so you can give it a try before you commit yourself in any way.  We meet each week in the Ganolfan on Tuesday afternoons and occasionally have a tutor to help us.  Call in after 1:30 and there will be someone there to meet you.  If you prefer to talk to someone first, then ring Judy on 01341 251025 or Roy on 01341 250646 and we can give you more information.  What do you have to lose?
