Village facilities
Our local pub,The Garthangarard Inn, circa 1736 was extended to a hotel in 1840 and became the focal point of the village. There is a cafe serving good meals lunch time and evening, A Post office and a shop providing all the essentials and some of the luxuries too!
Refreshments, food, accommodation and a warm welcome are all here!

This delightful stone cottage built in the 1800's is situated in the centre of the village. A 10 minute walk following the River Gwril brings you to a shingle beach where somtimes you see dolphins playing.Glasfor has been completely renovated whilst maintaining it's character.
Village Facilities
This is our village playground, this space is used by the villagers for recreation. The play equipment was modernised in 2007 after fundraising by the villagers made it possible.

DolGwril is two minutes walk to the bus stop, five minutes walk to the railway station which connects to Shrewsbury and Birmingham, and ten minutes walk along the river to the beach. It has a view of the fields and across the sea to the Lleyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island.
The barn lies in a quiet, secluded spot in the woods. The bridlepath adjacent to the barn can take you a short walk to the local pub or a short drive to Cader Idris and Dolgellau, passing through the most breathtaking scenery. Ideal for serious walkers or casual ramblers.You can walk 300yds down the lane to a part sand/rocky beach if you just prefer to chill and take in the panoramic views.
